Enhanced polysaccharide nanofibers via oxidation over SiliaCat TEMPO

Drawing on independent work carried out by academic and industrial researchers using the immobilized TEMPO catalyst SiliaCat TEMPO, in this study, we show how shifting the carboxylation process mediated by TEMPO in solution to a process mediated by the above-mentioned hybrid sol–gel catalyst allows the synthesis of insoluble polysaccharide nanofibers of superior quality, eliminating waste.

Brønsted acid catalyzed cascade benzannulation strategy for the concise synthesis of benzo[a]carbazoles is reported. Efficacy of the methodology was further validated by synthesizing structurally diverse, extensive π-conjugated carbazole based PAHs.

Pure organic quinacridone dyes as dual sensitizers in tandem photoelectrochemical cells for unassisted total water splitting

Tandem photoelectrochemical cells based on pure organic quinacridone-pyridine dicarboxylic acid dye as a dual photosensitizer realized overall water splitting and showed a STH of 0.11% under neutral pH conditions without an external bias.

A binuclear Co-based metal–organic framework towards efficient oxygen evolution reaction

A binuclear Co-based MOF with Co coordinated to two tetrazolate N atoms shows overpotentials of 336 and 396 mV to achieve the current density of 10 mA cm−2 for OER in 1 M KOH and 0.1 M KOH, respectively.
