Aqueous phase hydrogenolysis of glycerol with in situ generated hydrogen over Ni/Al3Fe1 catalyst: effect of the calcination temperature

Calcination temperatures of 500, 625 and 750 °C were studied over a Ni/Al3Fe1 catalyst on glycerol valorization. The catalyst calcined at 625 °C showed the best performance due to its high activity and selectivity to 1,2-propanediol.

Deep learning for automated size and shape analysis of nanoparticles in scanning electron microscopy

Particles depicted in scanning electron micrographs are automatically identified and classified according to size and shape with a deep-learning algorithm. The procedure works for both SE images and STEM images.

Mutation in the D1 domain of CD4 receptor modulates the binding affinity to HIV-1 gp120

HIV-1 gp120 is the key component for viral entry through interaction with CD4 D1. The 5 best docking solutions were retained according to the docking scores. SD1 bound to gp120 at which 15 residues formed 20 hydrogen bonds with 16 residues of gp120.
