Facile preparation, high microwave absorption and microwave absorbing mechanism of RGO–Fe3O4 composites

Reduced graphene oxide (RGO)–Fe3O4 composites with obviously enhanced microwave absorption properties were successfully fabricated by a rational one-pot simplified co-precipitation route, which avoided the usage of an inert gas and any additional chemical agents (such as surfactants and stabilizers).

One-pot green synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon nanoparticles as fluorescent probes for mercury ions

Fluorescent nitrogen-doped carbon nanoparticles (FNCPs) were synthesized by one-pot hydrothermal treatment of strawberry juice. The strategy was simple, green, and low-cost. The as-prepared FNCPs showed some excellent properties such as water-soluble and good stability, which was applied as an Hg2+ sensor with high sensitivity and selectivity.

Phosphorus-doped graphene nanosheets as efficient metal-free oxygen reduction electrocatalysts

An ionic liquid assisted one-step route was developed to prepare metal-free P-doped graphene nanosheets (P-TRG) by thermal annealing a homogeneous mixture of graphene oxide and BmimPF6. The P-TRG exhibited enhanced catalytic activity, long-term stability, high selectivity for the four-electron reduction of O2, and excellent tolerance to methanol and CO poisoning in alkaline media, outperforming or comparable to commercial Pt/C catalysts.

In this contribution, we demonstrate a green, cost-effective, one-pot preparative route toward Ag nanoparticles-graphene (AgNPs–G) nanocomposites in aqueous solution with the use of tannic acid (TA), an environmentally friendly and water-soluble polyphenols, as a reducing agent.
