Rational design of a photoswitchable DNA glue enabling high regulatory function and supramolecular chirality transfer

We present the rational design of photoswitchable DNA glue to trigger the reversible formation of duplex DNA by light. The supramolecular assembly shows a mutual interaction between ligand and DNA, which induces a preferred helicity in the switch.

Construction of a chiral artificial enzyme used for enantioselective catalysis in live cells

A yolk–shell stereoselective nanozyme is designed with a chiral selector. Nanozyme with D-/L-tryptophan possesses high selectivity towards D-/L-tyrosinol and can catalyze chiral tyrosinol to selectively label live yeast cells.

Heterogeneous Rh and Rh/Ag bimetallic nanoparticle catalysts immobilized on chiral polymers

We have developed novel heterogeneous chiral Rh and Rh/Ag NP catalysts immobilized on a chiral diene-containing polymer. The catalysts showed high activity in asymmetric reactions in both batch and flow systems.

Guest Editors Zhiyong Tang and Laura Na Liu introduce this themed collection on chiral nanomaterials. This collection is made up of a selection of previously published Edge content that has been carefully selected by Zhiyong and Laura, to showcase what they feel represents state-of-the art progress in this field. The collection covers a diverse range of chiral nanomaterials including organic, inorganic, organic-inorganic hybrid and superstructure nanomaterials. This collection also features some specially curated review content on the topics of temple-assisted and hierarchical self-assembly of chiral nanostructures and chiral self-assembly of organic derivatives.
