Single-molecule magnetism in cyclopentadienyl-dysprosium chlorides

[Cp2Dy(thf)(μ-Cl)]2 was synthesized from [Cp2Dy(μ-Cl)]n, which crystalizes as two polymorphs, a dimer with n = 2 and a chain-like polymer with n = ∞. All three compounds show slow relaxation of magnetization, and in [Cp2Dy(thf)(μ-Cl)]2 the quantum tunnelling was found to be exchange-biased.
