Hybrid inorganic/organic nanoparticles with exosomes can be applied as a novel platform for drug delivery systems. This biomimetic nanoplatform combines the functions of natural biomaterials to efficiently carry drugs to the center of cancer cells.

Defect-engineered room temperature negative differential resistance in monolayer MoS2 transistors

Defect-engineered monolayer MoS2 transistors with sulfur vacancies of ∼5 ± 0.5% behave the stable negative differential resistance effect at room temperature. The peak-to-valley ratio can be modulated via the gate electric field and light intensity.

In situ anodic oxidation strategy is demonstrated to fabricate flexible long-life and high-capacity aqueous zinc-ion batteries adopting a 3D N-doped/defect-rich V2O5−x·nH2O nanosheets as fibrous cathodes and Zn nanosheets arrays as the anode.

Strain-mediated oxygen evolution reaction on magnetic two-dimensional monolayers

By screening 56 magnetic 2D monolayers via first-principles calculations, 4 magnetic 2D monolayers can be activated via strain engineering as catalysts for the OER in which the overpotential of the CoO2 monolayer decreases to 0.372 V under 4.0% εxy.

A lanthanide nanocomposite with cross-relaxation enhanced near-infrared emissions as a ratiometric nanothermometer

Lanthanide-doped nanocomposite is established as a dual-ratiometric luminescence nanothermometer. The cross-relaxation processes can efficiently enhance near infrared emissions and induce a temperature response of the emissions.

Thermally driven phase transition of cobalt hydroxide sheets via cobalt oxides to cobalt nanoparticles

We investigated phase transitions of Co(OH)2 nanosheets by in situ scanning transmission electron microscopy heating experiments. The layered Co(OH)2 transformed to Co nanoparticles via CoO phases; spinel Co3O4 was formed with temperature reduction.

Molecular mechanics of Ag nanowire transfer processes subjected to contact loading by a PDMS substrate

A nanomechanical design method for the laser transfer process of a single AgNW is proposed. The nonlinear mechanical behavior of AgNWs with various geometric conditions is fully characterized through MD simulations and experiments.
