Improved reversibility of lithium deposition and stripping with high areal capacity under practical conditions through enhanced wettability of the polyolefin separator to highly concentrated electrolytes

Highly concentrated electrolytes (HCEs) have attracted great interest as electrolyte candidates for Li metal batteries because of their functionalities in improving the reversibility and cycling performance of the Li metal negative electrode.

Black goes green: single-step solvent exchange for sol-gel synthesis of carbon spherogels as high-performance supercapacitor electrodes

The novel synthesis of carbon spherogels in organic solvents enables energy and solvent savings and omits supercritical drying. In addition, the resulting carbon spherogels feature excellent capacitance for energy storage in a supercapacitor setup.

A comparison of the impact of cation chemistry in ionic liquid-based lithium battery electrolytes

Two high-salt-content ionic liquid electrolytes with distinct cationic chemistries were compared. The one with a phosphonium cation showed superior characteristics, particularly in terms of its enhanced capacity when used in lithium metal batteries.
