Effects of ionization potential of an element and boiling point of the corresponding oxide on the sensitivity of ICP-MS

The sampling depth profiles of 19 elements in aqueous solution were obtained. The optimized sampling position depends on the boiling point of the oxides for high-boiling oxides, or the difference between the boiling point and the temperature for high degree of ionization for elements of high ionization potential and low-boiling oxides.

Laser ablation low-flow ICP-MS for elemental bioimaging

A laser ablation system (LA) was coupled to an in-house developed low-flow inductively coupled plasma ion source for mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). This new setup was applied to elemental bioimaging of rat kidney sections.

Analysis of relative standard deviation of spectral line intensity and intensity ratio in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy using CuIn1−xGaxSe2 thin film samples

The precision of laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) measurement is analyzed in consideration of both the shot noise of the detector and the shot-to-shot fluctuation noise of the laser plasma.

Atomic emission spectrometry in liquid electrode plasma using an hourglass microchannel

Liquid electrode plasma atomic emission spectrometry (LEP-AES) is a new elemental analysis method that uses microplasma. LEP forms in a vapor bubble generated inside a narrow-center microchannel by using high-voltage DC pulse power.
