A new cofacial binucleating macropolycycle: segregated versus encapsulated complexation

Abstract

A new cofacial binucleating macropolycycle combining, for the first time, the distinctive coordination properties of [9]aneN3 (1,4,7-triazacyclononane) with those of phenol-based compartmental macrocycles is reported together with binuclear CdII and YIII complexes, which show segregated and encapsulated complexation, respectively.
