Abstract

Oligo(benzoate) derivatives of cis- and trans-(RO)2[14]aneS4, trans-(RO)2[16]aneS4, and their corresponding Pd(II) complexes reveal metal-induced mesomorphic behaviour which can be rationalised by conformational locking of the ligand on complexation.
