Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure analysis of a novel µ4-oxo undeca-osmium carbonyl cluster [Os114-O)3(CO)30]

Abstract

The first example of an osmium cluster containing µ4-oxo groups, [Os114-O)(CO)30]1, has been obtained from the vacuum pyrolysis of [Os3H(CO)10(µ-OH)], and has been shown by X-ray crystallography to contain a tri-edge bridged, bicapped trigonal prismatic metal core.
