Abstract

The new cluster [Pt2Re2(µ-CO)2(CO)6(µ-dppm)2], 2, dppm = Ph2PCH2PPh2, has a planar, diamond-shaped metal core and, for the first time in triangulo-Re2Ptn clusters, PtPt bonding is present while ReRe bonding is absent.
