Hydrogen transfer photo-catalysed by corrole in visible light: reduction of benzaldehyde with benzenethiol
Abstract
Corrole effectively catalysed the photo-reduction of benzaldehyde to benzyl alcohol with benzenethiol in visible light; in a separate experiment without benzaldehyde, photo-bleaching of corrole took place with benzenethiol, while under appropriate conditions, photo-induced redox re-cycling of the catalyst was observed.
