A new oxime synthesized from Senecio nutans SCh. Bip (chachacoma) reduces calcium influx in the vascular contractile response in rat aorta

The Sn–I metabolite decreases the contractile response to KCl or phenylephrine (PE) mainly by blocking Ca2+ entry through voltage-gated Ca2+ channel (VGCC).

Stixis scandens leaf extract-loading ZnO nanoparticles for porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) treatment

Various nanoformulations of ZnO and Stixis scandens leaf extract were successfully synthesized. The A1T nanoformulation, containing only 7.6% extract, showed an equivalent anti-PEDV activity with the extract.

Silica-coated LiYF4:Yb3+, Tm3+ upconverting nanoparticles are non-toxic and activate minor stress responses in mammalian cells

Silica-coated lanthanide-doped upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are internalized by mammalian cells. The bipyramidal UCNPs are non-toxic and elicit minor stress responses in a cell type-dependent fashion.

Biosynthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles synthesized using extracts of Agrimonia eupatoria L. and in vitro and in vivo studies of potential medicinal applications

Silver nanoparticles were biosynthesized using extracts from the plant Agrimonia eupatoria. After the characterization, their antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity, genotoxicity, cytotoxicity, and hemolytic activity were investigated.

Rapid colorimetric sensing of chlorpromazine HCl antipsychotic through in situ growth of gold nanoparticles

This assay rapidly detects chlorpromazine hydrochloride using its ability to reduce gold ions to form nanoparticles. Its low cost, resilience to interferences and short analysis time could facilitate environmental monitoring and biomedical analysis.

Co-encapsulated astaxanthin and kaempferol nanoparticles: fabrication, characterization, and their potential synergistic effects on treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Astaxanthin/kaempferol co-encapsulated nanoparticles were fabricated using cremophor RH40 and lecithin as surface-active agents, and β-cyclodextrin as an encapsulating agent. The nanoparticles showed high dispersibility and stability in aqueous solutions, which enhances their bioactivity.
