Feather-like few-layer WSe2 nanosheets grown on W substrates: an excellent electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction

Few-layer WS2 or WSe2 nanosheets were grown on W substrates by CVD, and feather-like WSe2 delivered excellent performances as HER electrocatalyst in acid including low overpotential of 141 mV to yield 10 mA cm2, outperforming other TMDs thin films.

Graphene-containing metal–organic framework nanocomposites for enhanced microwave ablation of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma

Traditional MW ablation may result in insufficient ablation and aggravation of tumor hypoxia. Our strategy for MW ablation with ZIF67@Gr-PEG NCs achieved the combined effects of enhanced MW ablation and tumor hypoxia relief.

High-efficiency modulation of broadband polarization conversion with a reconfigurable chiral metasurface

A reconfigurable chiral metasurface is demonstrated with a three-layer structure of complementary split ring resonator arrays. Functional layer with tunable elements provides a platform for tunable polarization response and asymmetric transmission.

Enhanced electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution by molybdenum disulfide nanodots anchored on MXene under alkaline conditions

The designed MoS2/MXene/nickel foam heterostructure displays an ultralow overpotential of 94 mV with a Tafel slope of only 59 mV dec−1 in alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction, due to the more active site and the improved conductivity.

Copper-doped carbon dots with enhanced Fenton reaction activity for rhodamine B degradation

CuCDs enhanced the Fenton reaction activity for rhodamine B degradation. Electron transfer happening on the surface of CuCDs and more ˙OH and 1O2 generation played vital roles in RhB degradation. RhB degradation filtrates exhibited low toxicity.

Formaldehyde gas sensor with extremely high response employing cobalt-doped SnO2 ultrafine nanoparticles

In this work, Co-SnO2 NPs with zero-dimensional structure were synthesized by hydrothermal method. At the optimal temperature, the selectivity and response of 0.5% Co-SnO2 to formaldehyde are excellent (for 30 ppm formaldehyde, Ra/Rg = 163 437).
