Conventional fluorophore-free dual pH- and thermo-responsive luminescent alternating copolymer

Herein, we have designed and synthesized a novel traditional fluorophore-free water-soluble fluorescent copolymer based on a poly(maleimide-alt-styrene) skeleton, which responds to both pH and temperature in aqueous medium.

Room temperature phosphorescence of 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalic anhydride derivative-based polyacrylamide copolymer with photo-stimulated responsiveness

Room temperature phosphorescence emission was achieved by host–guest recognition between γ-cyclodextrin and a 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalic anhydride polymer, which can be controlled by the photo-isomerization of the azobenzene unit of the other polymer.

Addition of water to an alcoholic RAFT PISA formulation leads to faster kinetics but limits the evolution of copolymer morphology

Addition of water leads to a much faster rate for the RAFT dispersion polymerization of benzyl methacrylate in ethanol, enabling degrees of polymerization of up to 1500 to be achieved.
