Novel extended π-redox cage-like systems and their conformational versatility

Abstract

The synthesis and cyclic voltammetry data of cage-like molecules incorporating extended tetrathiafulvalenes are reported together with the demonstration that the two crystal modifications (1.289 and 1.311 g cm–3) observed for 2b correspond to two different cis conformers A and B, the most planar form (B) giving the more dense crystal packing.
