Phthalocyanine-polyoxotungstate lanthanide double deckers

Two archetypal tetradentate ligands with square donor patterns, namely phthalocyanate and monolacunary Keggin-type polyoxotungstate, coordinate to rare earth ions to yield Cs-symmetric heteroleptic double-decker complexes.

Tin(IV) fluoride complexes with neutral phosphine coordination and comparisons with hard N- and O-donor ligands

Abstraction of fluoride from tin(IV) fluoride complexes bearing neutral phosphine ligands yields mono, di- and tri-fluoride complexes with retention of two phosphines, whereas with neutral O- and N-donor trifluoride cations, dications are formed.

Exploiting complementary ligands for the construction of square antiprismatic monometallic lanthanide SMMs

Low temperature CVD of thermoelectric SnTe thin films from the single source precursor, [nBu3Sn(TenBu)]

[nBu3Sn(TenBu)] is an effective precursor for the low temperature growth of continuous SnTe thin films by low pressure CVD; temperature-dependent thermoelectric characterisation of these p-type films is reported.

Regioselective B(3)–H bond activation based on an o-carboranyl dithiocarboxylate ligand and its derivatives

Using methyldithiocarboxyl as the directing group, together with [Cp*IrCl2]2, selective B(3)–H activation occurs at o-carborane. A series of substitution complexes have been prepared from the B(3)–H activated complex.

Insertion reactions of the C–B–N-substituted borinium cation [MesBNiPr2]+

The borinium cation [MesBNiPr2]+ reacts with isothiocyanate and carbodiimides affording a nitrilium and borenium amidinate salts, respectively. The related triflate derivative undergoes double insertion of carbodiimide to give a bis(amidinate) boronium salt.

Structural variations in (001)-oriented layered lead halide perovskites, templated by 1,2,4-triazolium

Three new layered hybrid perovskites are reported. (TzH)2PbCl4 undergoes a unique structural phase transition, due to ‘rippling’ of perovskite-like layers.

An intermolecular FLP system with an NHC-coordinated trisilacyclopropylidene acting as the Lewis base is shown to split dihydrogen heterolytically under ambient conditions, and reacts with Ph2NH, Me2CO, and N2O.

Increase of network hydrophilicity from sql to lvt supramolecular isomers of Cu-MOFs with the bifunctional 4-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)benzoate linker

A large S-shaped [MnIII5MnII2]2 assembly (∼40 Å top to tail) has been formed with bis-p-tBu-calix[4]arene and 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine as a co-ligand, with the former existing unusually in both syn and anti-conformations (as shown).

Bis(alkynyl)calix[4]arene gold(I) isocyanide complexes with amide linkers show strong binding affinity towards Al3+, which turns on the low-energy emission associated with the presence of Au(I)⋯Au(I) interactions.
