Abstract

The ZnII and CuII complexes with the macrocyclic ligand [15]aneN3O2(L) readily trap atmospheric CO2 to form the {[ZnL]3(µ3-CO3)}·(ClO4)4 and {[CuL]3(µ3-CO3)}·(ClO4)4 complexes, which both contain a triply bridging carbonate anion.
