Formic acid promotion of transition-metal catalysed isomerization of methyl formate

Abstract

Mel–HCO2H is an extremely effective promoter/solvent combination for the transition-metal catalysed conversion of methyl formate to acetic acid in the absence of initial carbon monoxide pressure.
