Stimuli-responsive liquid cell scaffold: reversible viscoelasticity switching of a polymer in an ionic liquid by visible-light
Cell culture at liquid|liquid interfaces has attracted attention in mechanobiology. A visible-light-responsive polymer solution in a non-cytotoxic ionic liquid reversibly switches viscoelasticity, offering a new platform for liquid cell scaffolds.

Interpenetrating vitrimers based on dioxaborolane metathesis and imine-aldehyde exchange
We report a simple methodology to prepare interpenetrating vitrimers based on dioxaborolane metathesis and imine-aldehyde exchange. The interpenetrating vitrimers exhibit a combination of properties superior to those of the constituent vitrimers.

About this collection
About this collection: This themed collection, Guest Edited by Filip Du Prez (Ghent University, ORCID: 0000-0001-7727-4155), Christopher Bowman (University of Colorado, ORCID: 0000-0001-8458-7723), Kristi Anseth (University of Colorado, ORCID: 0000-0002-5725-5691) and Tao Xie (Zhejiang University, ORCID: 0000-0003-0222-9717), presents the latest developments in dynamic polymer networks, focussing on both novel covalent and non-covalent chemistry approaches for their design. To fit in the scope of Polymer Chemistry, the collection aims to showcase advances in novel dynamic chemical reactions, insights into the interrelationship between dynamic chemistry and polymer behaviour, and finally sustainability-enabling design approaches to dynamic polymer networks without a direct application focus. This collection celebrates the progress and strong contribution of polymer science in this evolving area and aims to inspire new research.
