A facile, general, and modular synthetic approach to biomass-based diols

A modular synthetic route to prepare biomass-based diols (BDOs) is demonstrated. This method offers a convenient and efficient way for accessing structurally diverse BDOs without the need for catalysts and under mild reaction conditions.

Orthogonal assisted tandem reactions for the upgrading of bio-based aromatic alcohols using chitin derived mono and bimetallic catalysts

The upgrading of a benzyl-type alcohols was explored via an orthogonal tandem sequence comprised of a first oxidative step producing the corresponding aldehydes, and a subsequent reductive amination to achieve both secondary and tertiary amines.

Fe-based “electron pump” involving NiCo-LDH enables robust and highly-selective electrocatalytic methanol oxidation to formic acid

Nucleophile oxidation reactions, represented by the incomplete methanol oxidation reaction (i-MOR) to formic acid, can effectively lower the potential of electrolytic hydrogen production while generating high-value products.
