Water desorption from microcline (001): insights into the first water layer

Temperature programmed desorption shows that one water molecule per unit cell binds strongly on microcline (001). Three additional water molecules can bind less strongly but with a similar adsorption energy. Other molecules occupy the second layer.

About this collection

This themed collection is devoted to the 124th Bunsen-Tagung meeting on the topic “Physical Chemistry of the Climate and the Atmosphere” which took place from 17 - 19 March 2025 at the University of Leipzig, Germany, in collaboration with the Deutsche Bunsen-Gesellschaft für physikalische Chemie (DBG), one of the Owner Societies of PCCP

The DBG and the organizing committee of this year’s Bunsen-Tagung are pleased to showcase recent research on either the main topic of physical chemistry of the climate and the atmosphere or to the general topic of physical chemistry, chemical physics and biophysics.

This themed collection is Guest Edited by Hartmut Herrmann (TROPOS - Leibniz-Institut für Troposphärenforschung).
