Controlling the intercomponent energy-transfer pattern in light-harvesting trimetallic complexes of Fe(II), Ru(II), and Os(II)

The design strategy, photophysics, energy transfer and stimuli-responsive behaviors of homo- and hetero-trimetallic complexes of Fe(II), Ru(II), and Os(II) metals based on asymmetric bipyridine-terpyridine type bridging ligands are reviewed.

Ligand-responsive ON–OFF anion transport using copper-caged acylhydrazone transporters

Reversibly-gated stimuli-responsive acylhydrazone-based anion transporters are reported. Acylhydrazone-copper complexation makes hydrazone protons unavailable for binding and transport, whilst decomplexation using Na2EDTA activates the ion transport.

Highly regio- and diastereoselective (3+3)-cycloannulation of carbonyl ylides and 2-(1-alkynyl)-2-alken-1-ones enabled by silver catalysis

We report the first silver-catalyzed synthesis of 3,4-fused furans featuring an oxa-bridged motif, delivering products in good to high yields with excellent regio- and diastereoselectivities across a broad substrate scope.
