Chromatographic determination of active compounds in topical formulations

Two novel simple methods for the determination of active substances in topical formulations were described. The first method—HPLC with UV detection—was used to determine trimecaine, nonoxinol-9, using amitriptyline as the internal standard, and the second method—GC with flame ionisation detection—deals with the determination of terpinen-4-ol using geraniol as the internal standard.
