Self-organization of octa-phenyl-2,3-naphthalocyaninato zinc floating layers

Abstract

Phenyl-substituted zinc naphthalocyaninate forms amorphous floating layers on the water surface. It was shown that the complex forms monolayers at the water/air interface when the area per one molecule (Amol) values lying between 1.90 and 0.97 nm2. When Amol ≤ 0.97 nm2, amorphous bilayers are formed.
