A strong hydrangea-like Au–TiO2 catalyst for round-the-clock degradation of oxalic acid in the presence of ozone†
Abstract
A hydrangea-like Au–TiO2 catalyst for round-the-clock degradation of organic contaminants was developed, which can degrade oxalic acid by either photocatalytic ozonation or catalytic ozonation. Au–TiO2 with 1.5 wt% gold loading showed the highest catalytic activity, achieving a removal rate of 99% under visible light irradiation and 84% in the dark, respectively.
