Trapping bound water within a polymer electrolyte membrane of calcium phosphotungstate for efficient CO2 capture

Abstract

Calcium phosphotungstate is synthesized and utilized to fabricate a polymer electrolyte membrane for the first time. The strong hygroscopicity of both Ca2+ and PW12O403− is found to “trap” bound water within the membrane, resulting in an appealing CO2 capture performance.
