Identification of metabolites of AHTN in rat urine and feces by liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry
Abstract
6-Acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexamethyltetraline (AHTN) is widely used polycyclic musk with raised environmental and health concerns during the last decade, but the metabolites of AHTN in model animals such as rats are unknown. In this study, the major metabolites of AHTN in rat urine and feces were identified by ultra-performance liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC/ESI-QTOF-MS). Three hydroxylation metabolites and three carboxyl metabolites were found in urine and feces.
