Visible light induced photocatalytic activity of Fe3+/Ti3+ co-doped TiO2 nanostructures

Abstract

Black TiO2 nanostructures co-doped with Fe3+ and Ti3+ were synthesized by annealing Fe-deposited TiO2 nanotubes under vacuum. These vacuum-annealed samples exhibited improved visible light absorption and efficient photocatalytic activity under visible light illumination as compared to conventional TiO2 materials. XPS and EPR spectra confirmed the presence of Ti3+ in the bulk and Fe3+ dopant.
