Organoboronium-functionalized polystyrenes as a new class of polycations

Abstract

The facile preparation of organoboronium polymersvia spontaneous reaction of bromoborylated polystyrene with 2,2′-bipyridine is reported; these novel polycations represent an interesting alternative to commonly used ammonium-based polycations.
