Synthesis and structural characterisation of tetraruthenium µ4-nitrene clusters containing tolylacetylene (HC2Tol). Molecular structures of [Ru4(CO)9(µ-CO)2(µ4-NH)(µ4-η2-HC2Tol)] and [Ru4(CO)9(µ-CO)2{µ4-NC(O)OMe}(µ4-η2-HC2Tol)]
Abstract
Two structurally characterized tetraruthenium carbonyl clusters, [Ru4(CO)9(µ-CO)2(µ4-NH)(µ4-η2-HC2Tol)] 1 and [Ru4(CO)9(µ-CO)2{µ4-NC(O)OMe}(µ4-η2-HC2Tol)] 2, have been isolated from the reaction between [Ru3(CO)9(µ3-CO)(µ3-NOMe)] and tolylacetylene (HC2Tol) in refluxing n-octane.
