Reactions of ruthenium cyclopropenyl complexes with trimethylsilyl azide

Abstract

Treatment of three cyclopropenyl complexes [Ru]–C[double bond, length half m-dash]C(Ph)CHR {[Ru] = (η5-C5H5)(PPh3)2Ru; R = Ph 1a, CN 1b, CH[double bond, length half m-dash]CH2 1c} with Me3SiN3 afforded the nitrile complex 3a, the zwitterionic tetrazolate complex 6, and 7, respectively; for 1c, the triazole 8 was also obtained.
