Binding of the uranyl moiety by an Amavadin-style complex; synthesis and characterisation of [{UO2(H2O)3}{Δ-V(hida)2}·2H2O]n

Abstract

[Δ-V(hida)2]2– (H3hida = N-hydroxyiminodiacetic acid) and UO22+ form the solid [{UO2(H2O)3}{Δ-V(hida)2}·2H2O]n which is comprised of left-handed helical arrays, linked by H-bonding networks, in which the VIV is eight-coordinate and the UVI seven-coordinate.
