Photocontrol of the redox state of ruthenium–tris(bipyridine)-appended cytochrome b562

Abstract

Ruthenium–tris(bipyridine)-appended heme is successfully reconstituted with apo-cytochrome b 562 (Cyt-b 562 ); the redox state of the active site in the resultant semisynthetic Cyt-b 562 can be switched by visible light irradiation.
