From monomeric iminosilane to a monomeric aminoalane: synthesis and crystal structures

Abstract

The reaction between the iminosilane R 2 Si[double bond, length as m-dash]NR′ [R = CMe 3 , R′= Si(CMe 3 ) 2 Ph] 1 and AlMe 3 in n-hexane at -78 °C affords the first monomeric aminodimethylalane Me 2 Al[double bond, length as m-dash]N(R′)R″ [R″= Si(CMe 3 ) 2 Me] 2; the crystal structure of 2 is presented.
