Butyltellurolate ligands in cluster synthesis: molecular structure of Ag6Te6, Ag32Te25 and Ag48Te36 complexes

Abstract

BunTeSiMe3 reacts with silver(I) chloride in the presence of PEt3 to yield the following series of cluster complexes depending on the relative amount of phosphine used: [Ag63-TeBun)4(µ-TeBun)2(PEt3)4] 1, [Ag323-TeBun)18-Te7(PEt3)6] 2 and [Ag483-TeBun)24Te12(PEt3)14] 3; the molecular structures of 2 and 3 are described.
