A copper(I)-complexed rotaxane with two fullerene stoppers

Abstract

A three-component complex consisting of a coordinating ring, a copper(I) centre and a difunctionalized fragment threaded inside the ring is reacted with a C60 derivative to afford a soluble rotaxane with two fullerenes as stoppers in 15% yield.
