Electron conduction across vesicular bilayer membranes induced by a caroviologen molecular wire

Abstract

The zwitterionic caroviologen 1, incorporated into vesicle bilayer membranes, functions as a molecular wire mediating electron transfer from an external reducing phase to an internal oxidising phase.
