The synthesis and X-ray crystal structure determination of a new ruthenium–rhodium mixed-metal cluster [Ru3RhH3(CO)12] have been performed. The complex crystallises in the space group P![[1 with combining macron]](https://www.rsc.org/images/entities/char_0031_0304.gif)
with a= 8.356(8), b= 9.261(8), c= 13.83(l)Å, α= 82.56(7), β= 80.12(7), γ= 68.83(7)°, and Z= 2. Its 1H n.m.r. properties are also discussed.
