Preparation and structure of an unusually stable cationic µ-carbyne complex of rhodium
Abstract
The reaction of either [(η5-C5Me5)2Rh2(CO)2{µ-C(OMe)Ar}] or [(η5-C5Me5)2Rh2(µ-CO){µ-C(OMe)Ar}] with H[BF4]·OEt2 yields the stable cationic carbyne complex [(η5-C5Me5)2Rh2(µ-CO)(µ-CAr)][BF4]; the structure of the complex for which Ar = 4-MeC6H4, with a [BPh4] counterion, was established in an X-ray diffraction study.
