A new general synthesis of polyhydroxyisoflavanones

Abstract

Hydroxyisoflavanones have been conveniently synthesized from hydroxydesoxybenzoins in 47–57% overall yields in four steps which could be carried out either continuously or by isolating the products at each stage.
