X-Ray crystal structure of the cationic cyclic alkyl(alkoxy)carbene complex of nickel(II), trans-[Ni(C6Cl5)(PMe3)2(CCH2CH2CH2O)]BF4 and the corresponding alkoxy vinyl complex, trans-[Ni(C6Cl5)-(PMe3)2(C
CHCH2CH2O)]; evidence for strong π-bonding in the nickel–carbene bond
Abstract
The molecular Structures of the cationic cyclic alkyl(alkoxy)carbene– and the corresponding alkoxyvinyl–nickel(II) complexes trans-{NiRL2([graphic omitted])]BF4and trans-[NiRL2([graphic omitted])](R = C6Cl5 and L = PMe3) have been determined by X-ray crystal structure analysis; a comparison of the structures suggests strong π-bonding in the nickel–carbene bond.
