Methyl and silyl halide radical anions: an Ab initio study

Abstract

Ab initio molecular orbital calculations suggest that, whereas CH3F˙ and CH3CCl˙ are loose C3v complexes between the methyl radical and a halide ion, SiH3F˙and SiH3Cl˙ are T-shaped complexes with one unique hydrogen atom.
