Reaction of α-phosphino functional carbanions with co-ordinated nitriles. Synthesis of bis-chelate (P,N) platinum complexes; X-ray crystal and molecular structure of trans-Pt[P(Ph)2C(CO2Et)C(Ph)NH]2

Abstract

The α-phosphino carbanions Ph2P[C with combining macron]HY (Y = CO2Et or CN) react with the co-ordinated nitrile ligand of cis-Pt(PhCN)2Cl2 to give new bis-chelate (P, N) platinum complexes P[graphic omitted]H]2; the structure of one of them (Y = CO2Et) has been determined by X-ray diffraction.
