A possible chemical analogy for pterocarpan biosynthesis

Abstract

Oxidative conversion of 2′-hydroxyisoflavans to pterocarpans by 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone is suggested as a possible chemical analogy for the corresponding biosynthetic pathway.
