µ-Superoxo- and µ-peroxo-dicobalt complexes react with Cr2+ by outer-sphere and inner-sphere mechanisms respectively; a µ-peroxo-complex with two different metal ions has been identified for the first time; rationalisation of activation parameters for an outer-sphere reaction has been made by considering corrections based upon ion-pair formations.
