A rapid, inexpensive coulometric determination of sulphur in petroleum products
Abstract
A method for the determination of sulphur in oils in the range 0·01 to 1·0 per cent. m/m is described. A simple and inexpensive constant-current coulometer is used. A result can be obtained in 2 minutes by using a 0·5-µl sample. The coefficient of variation is 1·4 per cent. at the 0·2 per cent. m/m of sulphur level.
