Amino-acids and peptides. Part XII. The molecular structures of the monamycins, cyclodepsipeptide antibiotics
Abstract
The molecular structure of the monamycins D1(XXII) and H1(XXIX), major constituents of a mixture of fifteen related cyclohexadepsipeptides, have been determined through partial hydrolysis to di- and tri-peptides and by mass spectral studies of the methyl esters of the corresponding linear hexadepsipeptide derivatives. The related structures of the minor components were elucidated through mass spectrometry.
