The vibrational spectra of dimethyltin difluoride and some related compounds

Abstract

The i.r. and Raman spectra (800–20 cm–1) of dimethyltin difluoride have been recorded. All the skeletal modes predicted by factor group analysis have been observed, together with a methyl torsional mode. There is no Raman mode of the [SnF2]n sheets present in the structure. The spectra of some related compounds are also discussed.
